Throwback DUNK Thursday
SUPERMAN TAKES FLIGHT
NBA 2008 SLAM DUNK Contest
This may just be one of the greatest SLAM DUNK CONTEST yet. In 2008, there was Jamario Moon, Rudy Gay, Dwight Howard, and Gerald Green. Green was favorited to win this because he does the most unthinkable dunk known to man. In came down to Dwight Howard and Gerald Green. Dwight showed off his air time and moblity in the air so far in the contest. And yet again Green shows he can dunk and blow at cupcakes at the same time!
Dwight decided to pull out the cape of comics "Superman". Everyone thought this dunk was a joke but once Howard took flight no one stop him. He flew up higher than the rim and magically threw it down with force. This dunk changed the contest around and Gerald Green had no hope for him with his sneaky little dunks. Dwight came up as champ of the dunk contest and as a true comic hero in basketball fans

TOP DUNKS OF THE WEEK (10/29-11/13)

Since opening night in the NBA, players have be
getting posterized at there worst or showing off there air dynamic skills. Rookie guard Victor Oladipo
showed off what he can do on a fast break within
no time. He had stole the ball from Deron Williams
and took off like instantly. By the time he reached the other side of the court, he was taking flight for a
360 dunk. As to anyone of making there first SLAMMA JAMMA, we have to give props to
OLADIPO for achieving this dunk as his first in the NBA. This dunk shows Oladipo can translate his college exclusive dunks to the NBA.
JJ Hickson destoryed the basket and Marvin

centers in the NBA. Just because most of them are built big and have weight on them doesn't mean they cant tear up the basket once an while. On this play Marvin Williams didn't even know what was coming for him. JJ received a pick & roll pass from Ty Lawson and took advantage of it. I guess you can say its a flashback from last years dunk from Deandre Jordan over Brandon Knight.

BIRTH OF THE SLAM DUNK

Dominique Wilkins |
The Golden Era
In the ABA, Julius Erving took the throne as the best dunker in the old days. He was the first to leap from the free-throw line for a SLAM dunk. Dominique Wilkins or the "Human Highlight Film" introduced the windmill, pump fake, reverse dunks and pounded it on anyone that came threw his way. And Of Course "Air Jordan" himself is known as one of the greatest dunkers of all-time after the leaping free-throw line dunk that caught the worlds attention and became the symbol of the Jumpman logo.
The Explosion of the SLAMA JAMMA!
Kobe Bryant mostly known for he amazing skills than his dunks but Kobe is one of the few High-Fliers of the NBA. He won the Dunk Contest at 18 years old and still can dunk the same at the age 35. VINSANITY made SLAM dunks to what they are today. Vince Carter transformed the Dunk Contest to new expectations and excitement levels. Carter did the unpossible to posible with windmills, tomahawk and under the leg dunks. Jason Richardson came right after blew away the crowd and judges, he won back to back dunk contests.
The FUTURE

Then a gift from the SLAM DUNK GODS was born he would be first to dunk over cars, create a DPG (Dunks Per Game) statistic, and destroy NBA players reputation . BLAKE GRIFFEN became the modern Vince Carter and be known to destroy the basketball hoop when he has possession of the ball. Just leave your back turned around on the wrong time you might just be the next embarrassing highlight on sport center. Lebron James is also known as the future of dunking with his Athletic ways to attack the basketball and ability to detory the hoop and anyone in his way. He yet to enter a dunk contest but when it happens the world will WITNESS GREATNESS.
